The European Federation of Immunological Societies (EFIS) is the federation of 27 societies of immunology in 31 countries in the European area. These are the Immunological Societies of Austria, Baltic Countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania), Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Scandinavian Countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden), Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and United Kingdom. Altogether, members of Immunology Societies which belong to EFIS are more than 16,000 immunologists.

EFIS aims at promoting the advancement of research and education in Immunology, especially by encouraging contacts between members of its constituent societies. It does this by:

EFIS has a Board composed of the President, the Vice-President, the Past-President, the Treasurer, the European Community Liaison Officer and the Secretary General. The Board meets about three times a year. Board Members are elected by the EFIS General Assembly, composed of delegates of national societies (each society is entitled to have one delegate per 500 members), and they are appointed for a period of three years.
