EFIS Lifetime Achievement Award

As part of initiatives commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Federation's founding, the EFIS Board established the EFIS Lifetime Achievement Award in 2025, in recognition of a career of scientific achievements and contributions to the advancement of the European immunology community through innovation, mentorship, and impactful research.

The award consists of a personalised commemorative gold medal and invitation to an all-expenses-paid participation at a special session to be organised on occasion of ECI 2027 (Florence, 5-8 September 2027) where the awardee will be invited to present her/his work.

Nominations are hereby invited exclusively from EFIS-affiliated national societies. Nominations submitted independently without the endorsement of an EFIS member society will not be considered. Nominees need not be of European origin, but the work for which she/he is nominated must have demonstrably been conducted in European institutions. Societies may submit up to three candidates.

Nomination packages should include:

  • A nomination letter of not more than three pages signed by the president or delegated representative of the member society indicating the nominee’s qualifications for the award and describing the nominee’s contributions to European immunology research;
  • The nominee’s curriculum vitae;
  • A list of the nominee's ten most important publications.

Nomination packages should be submitted by e-mail to the EFIS Secretary General and to the EFIS coordinator no later than 31 January 2027.
